Ha, leuk verhaal. Heb zelf ondertussen een stuk of 10 toestellen voor mezelf of anderen voorzien van /e/OS, en met de handmatige methode op een Linux PC werkte dat altijd goed wanneer je de stappen goed leest en volgt.
Vroeg me wel af waarom (en of) je bewust de Applounge niet gebruikt. Wanneer ik een app wil, check ik altijd eerst F-droid, en daarna gebruik ik gewoon Applounge.
@ilumium I have #e_os official system. I can't uninstall any of the default apps, and only decativate very few. Unfortunately, since I do tend to prefer many #fossify apps over the defaults.
I don't know why @e_mydata are so unflexible. Worst thing is the launcher - #blisslauncher - which is causing a lot of problems.
I have a weird issue with #Mastodon on my #e_os phone: Whenever i add text somewhere it says "validation error" <textfield> can't be empty. I can't comment on everything, post or since I reinstalled, log in. Any hints appreciated.
Mastodon app on my tablet is now also hit by this issue. I'm adding this using the web app. Really odd.
Kunnen alle apps die ik nodig heb er op? (Ook van mijn banken en bijvoorbeeld MoneyBird en eventuele apps van de middelbare school waar de elfjarige straks heen gaat?
Tips en ervaringen zijn heel welkom, en dan dus specifiek van mensen die net als ik diep in het Apple ecosysteem ingebed zitten :/

Zijn er hier mensen die de stap hebben gezet van IPhone naar e/OS?
Ik werk al meer dan tien jaar op Mac en IPhone en alles is er op ingericht (privé, maar zeker ook m’n eigen bedrijf).
Notities die met elkaar syncen (als schrijver heel belangrijk), en alles zo gebackupt dat het met één klik op een ander apparaat kan worden opgestart).
Maar ik wil graag los van de grote Amerikaanse bedrijven en mijn zes jaar oude Iphone begint een beetje gammel te worden.

Finalmente un altro youtuber tra i miei preferiti prova seriamente delle alternative ai prodotti delle bigtech. Tra le scelte ci sono #Fairphone con #e_OS, #Nextcloud e ovviamente un notebook #Tuxedo con #Linux (#Tuxedoos) con #Plasma. Si menziona anche #Mastodon ma è chiaro che il nostro è ancora un po' acerbo del nostro mondo. Se solo avesse conosciuto i @devol e qualcuno di noi, magari avremmo potuto guidarlo meglio. I installed /e/OS finally on my Fairphone5.
But had some struggle first. It didn't worked and I had to set my phone back with the rollback.
My Question: is it right, that the bootloader remains open?
Because it's not closed, after the install with the easy installer.

De ontgoogelde familie breidt zich weer verder uit.
Mocht je het zelf niet aandurven, je kunt 'm ook voorgeïnstalleerd bij Fairphone aanschaffen!
I have been quite happy with /e/os on my #fairphone #FP3 the last few years - but it is beginning to deteriorate lately, with more and more apps not being able to run. #mobilepay for one, but now also #garmin #navionics #boating - since last update it will not show my location, it keeps asking for permission - which it already have. I can downgrade for now, but it is not really a viable solution I believe. So what to do? I really dislike the idea of having to install #googleplay services :(
I believe we really need an alternative #mobile os. A truely google free android would be fine with me for now, while a more navtive #linux becomes feasible and commercial/public app providers realizes that there is a need for #flatpak releases.
Meanwhile, could #e_os (#microG) be fixed somehow?
UPDATE: downgrading to version 2.22 of garmin boating fixed the issue for now.

@e_mydata est peu médiatisée, et @GrapheneOS encore moins.
(Cette deuxième me parait de surcroit, only-nerds-friendly et compatible avec peu d'appareils.)
Ik heb een googlevrije telefoon (e/os/), al jaren geen whatsapp meer en insta ben ik nooit aan begonnen...
Il y a quelques années, j'avais tenté une installation de e/OS sur un smartphone. J'avais été refroidi par une fonction photo rendue impossible par une ou des applis qui mettaient plusieurs (trop) longues secondes à s'initialiser, et gelaient régulièrement. Pour moi, c'était bloquant, et je n'avais pas persévéré.
Quelqu'un par ici aurait des retours d'usage sur e/OS aujourd'hui ? Si les retours sont bons, notamment sur l'usage photo, je retenterais bien.

Nogle danske brugere af e/os/ herinde? Jeg har et problem med #mobilepay, jeg kan ikke logge på - det går galt efter indtastning af mit-id-nøgle-kode.
Jeg kan i øvrigt logge på andre sites med mit-id, både med duckduckgo og firefox, men jeg tror mobilepay bruger den indbyggede browser.
Min telefon er en #fairphone #FP3, OS er #e_os 2.7-t-20250111460957-official-FP3.
Hvis nogen har det lignende setup hvor mobilepay virker, er jeg interesseret i oplysninger.
