Ázzuen ben Aslan 🔜 EF
Hi Fedipeople,
I've got a question: few month ago I migrated to GrapheneOS and everything is fine so far.

Just recently I wanted to add a virtual creditcard to be used via NFC. Is there any other app for this than Google Wallet? Because, well, I managed to get Wallet installed and even started by giving a few more rights to sandboxed Play Service, but as soon as I actually wanted to add the credit card, it denied because my device (obviously) is rooted. I guess, if there is no alternative app, my two only options are to go back to stock Android (bad option!) or get a physical credit card?

#followerpower #grapheneos
#unplugtrump

KnowmadYes, that's what I thought regarding location services, which is why I was surprised to see the little green notification (#GrapheneOS, top right corner of the screen) indicating that location services was being accessed at app startup... 🤷🏻‍♂️ perhaps it is accessing some "sensors" which @GrapheneOS lumps in with location services? If so, do I lose any functionality when disabling access to sensors? Apologies for my basic ass questions 😅 I'm sure you have more pressing matters to attend to 😅

The updates are important. The updates have been rock solid so far. And anyway, I need to reboot manually for them to actually start applying.

Still, it's so damn disrespectful for developers to make this decision for me, and have the phone start automatically updating just as I'm about to leave for the whole day, and turn my phone into a potential time bomb where a reboot could leave me without a working phone until I can get home and reflash it.

Yes, there's a bunch of options to disable updates based on Internet connection type, battery state and whether the phone is charging. Still, why should I need to explain myself to my phone?! Really, this isn't what we dumped Microsoft for.
