Today's @pixel_dailies prompt was "friendly foe", and I love this prompt but wish I had a bit more creative juice flowing tonight.
Anyway it reminded me of the old saying "a stopped clock is right twice a day", great for describing the legislators for my erstwhile home state in the US. (thank you to @futurebird for the discussion that saved me from drawing a blank today)
Let yourself be hypnotized by these #rotor #clouds. The wind blows over the #mountain ridge and the setting sun behind the ridge gives the background light. The #vortices are very coherent. This #timelapse compresses around 30 min. into 15 secs.
Today's @pixel_dailies prompt was "jump", so here's a chess knight mid-jump.
Glacier Timelines
Over the past 150 years, Switzerland’s glaciers have retreated up the alpine slopes, eaten away by warming temperatures induced by industrialization. But such changes can be difficult for people to visualize, so artist Fabian Oefner set out to make these changes more comprehensible. These photographs — showing the Rhone and Trift glaciers — are the result. Oefner took the glacial extent records dating back into the 1800s and programmed them into a drone. Lit by LED, the drone flew each year’s profile over the mountainside, with Oefner capturing the path through long-exposure photography. When all the paths are combined, viewers can see the glacier’s history written on its very slopes. The effect is, fittingly, ghost-like. We see a glimpse of the glacier as it was, laid over its current remains. (Image credit: F. Oefner; video credit: Google Arts and Culture)

Here's an angle the camera would pan to.
I put all of my recent sunset paintings into a collected print, as well as making them available individually, in case anyone wanted them:

Time to go dumpster-diving for the time-lapse of yesterday's June Toons cartoon!
Today there was a demonstration in #Amsterdam for free migration and refugee rights. Organised by MiGreat (https://migreat.org/en). The weather was great (a bit to sweltering) with mostly nice people. The only disappointment was the turnout, but that also made it nicer in a certain way. The reason for the turnout was probably; 1. people were to tired after the NATO-summit; 2. the municipality decided to move us out of the center, a 15 min. walk from the nearest public transport (although not having to trip over tourists is also a plus); 3. there was also a demo against an anti-refugee demo in Haarlem.
Here is a short time-lapse (via MiGreat with permission, blur is ours) at the moment we arrived back in the Martin Luther King Park (the start and finish).
A shout-out to @MokumTegenFascisme.
