Ketzeleh’s adoption day is a week from now. It was 10 August when I first spotted her in the garden, and started putting food out for her. She was tiny and underfed, and very cautious. The photo shows her a month after her adoption. She was still tiny, but feeling at home

When I first sailed around the old abandoned BC Hydro Buntzen Powerplant. It is a decomissioned hydroelectric dam infrastructure.
We revisited it on Monday. I'll post more photos over next few days with some sights we saw while sailing around for 3 days.
As promised in the last post I am going to start a little TBT series about my biggest hiking adventure so far:
In late summer 2023 my girlfriend and I crossed the Alps from Königssee near Berchtesgaden in Bavaria to Rifugio Auronzo below the world-renowned Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
Although some kilometers, especially from Lienz in East Tyrol to Sillian, were completed by taking the train, we hiked for 11 days straight.
Total length: 132 km
Total Ascent/Descent: 8650 m ↑ and 7275 m ↓
The day before we started with the hikes we arrived overly excited in Berchtesgaden after a 6 hour long train journey with the Deutschlandticket.
Because it was rather gray and rainy that day, we wouldn't have guessed that day how blessed we were going to be with great weather conditions during the next 11 days!

#ThrowbackThursday to the image I sprained my ankle for.
I wanted to capture the sunset from the peak - I had a suspicion that the sky would light up for #Sunset and match the #Mountain flowers. On my descent I stepped funny, bending my ankle and reinjuring my recently sprained ankle again! I then hiked 8km solo in the dark down to camp, I didn't make it back till midnight. Hiking out the final 9km of trail the following morning was very hard!
For #ThrowbackThursday I have the Milky Way above Laguna Meadows, photographed #OnThisDay in 2020 during a pleasant summer night in San Diego's higher elevation back country.
This is a composite of a 10-minute exposure for the foreground and ten exposures at 20s for the sky, stacked to reduce high ISO noise. At the end of civil twilight there was still some available light for the foreground.
