Alpine ibex (capra ibex) and bearded vulture (gypaetus barbatus) immersed in the wonderful scenery of Gran Paradiso National Park, in the north-western Italian Alps.
While in the #Alps melting glaciers destroy whole villages, in #Canada the forest fire season comes weeks too early, to destroy needed carbon sinks + nature. But hey, let's delay climate action, and greenwash EU's 2040 target, cc @vonderleyen!

In Switzerland, after a glacier collapsed onto Blatten, fear is gripping the mountains
The destruction of the village served as a stark reminder to residents that dramatic collapses are becoming more frequent in the Swiss Alps.
Some experts are now daring to raise the possibility that, in time, the most exposed sites may have to be abandoned.
