I wasn't really playing rpg's and all when I was a kid, so I keep running into a problem of thinking I have some novel idea, but it was beaten to death 10x over when I was still in diapers.
I'm just now finding out that a game idea I pitched to Mel is like a ripoff of Metagaming's Microgames, like Ogre, G.E.V., Olympica, etc. Anyone have good experiences with these kind of little wargames? Should I go down this rabbit hole?

Ce soir pour fêter le fait que je n'ai pas joué depuis longtemps on enchaine avec pirates of the spanish main.
Next up we played Bellum Stellas by the youngest Protospieler of the weekend, Silas Hamilton, played with Kevin Levy and Mark Hamilton. While an old-style grognard #wargame was not really my thing these days, this ambitious game harkened back to that. A remarkably mature design for such a young guy, and Silas absorbed our advice like a sponge. It was great seeing his design evolve over the weekend.

This trash bashed boat model is looking pretty damn cute after the primer coat. So excited to paint this thing.
This is for the table top war game Scabz. You get a sardine tin or two and then use that as the base for a trash/scratch built model of a boat in whatever style you like. Quite like how my first stab at this is coming along.
