Ich habe vor, meinen Dokumentenordner endlich Mal zu digitalisieren, und das alte Flachbett was ich habe macht mich fertig. Ich will was effizienteres, aber kenne mich da gar nicht aus. Sind moderne Scanner genauso grauenhaft, wie die Drucker? Hat da jemand vielleicht viel Erfahrung mit gemacht?

Does anybody know a FOSS software/plugin to scan photo slides? I'm thinking about something where we can put several slides on a flat scanner, and it would detect automatically the slide and do the cropping.
In non FOSS, it seems that VueScan does that, but I would like FOSS.

Allerdings #xsane erkennt den #scanner nicht. Hingegen findet #gnome Document Scanner das treiberlose Gerät im #lan #wlan unter #ubuntu #linuxmint
Ergebnis: Der #Scanner (#Canon LiDE 400) funktioniert prima unter #Linux mit #sane, aber auch deshalb weil es bei #Arch ein Canon-Treiberpaket gibt, das man ganz einfach installieren kann. Der Scanner ist aber auch schon über 5 Jahre auf dem Markt.
Oh und Scanner sind in den letzten 25 Jahren auch besser geworden. Nicht zu vergleichen mit dem matschigen Pixelbrei, den der Aldi-Scanner meiner Jugend produziert hat :)

Die teuren Trägerfolien für den Brother ADS-2400N gibt es nur im Fünferpack für 2500 Scans. Gibt es günstigere Einzelfolien oder Alternativen?

Esta aplicación es muy muy útil , con la camara del móvil saca fotos de documentos que parecen fotocopias. pero la persona que lo ha desarrollado, ha anunciado que lo archiva definitivamente y no va a actualizar más. Por favor un fork.
This is a call for people who can program and develop free applications for f-droid. This application is very useful. You can scan documents with the camera and it looks like a photocopy. But the person developed it announced back in February that they are giving it up definitely. That they accepted some pull requests on the project but would archive it without a new release because they really do not have time to put on it.
The way now is to step forward and make a fork

ich suche ein #Multifunktionsgerät ( #Drucker + #Scanner ), zu dem es #Treiber gibt (vielleicht sogar vom Hersteller?), so dass es zuverlässig unter #LinuxMint (Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon) funktioniert. Hat jemand Erfahrungen/Empfehlungen?
Meinen #EpsonWF2760 bekomme nur rudimentär ans Drucken, ohne Patronenstatus etc. und nicht ans Scannen.
I have a very nice HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw. It has a scanner with an automatic document feeder.
On the Linux side, I usually use `xsane` to scan. This works when I put a document on the document glass. But it doesn't work with the ADF. When I tell xsane to use the ADF, the scanner sucks the documents through the ADF as it should, but then xsane pops up an error dialog that says "failed to start scanner : document feeder out of documents" and doesn't seem to have any scans.
I *did* get it to work with the `scanadf` command, so there's nothing really wrong, just some software confusion.
I have two questions:
* Is there something I can do with `xsane` to make it handle the ADF correctly?
* Is there an alternative to `xsane` that might work instead?

Gestern erfolglos versucht, einem Kollegen zu helfen einen älteren #Canon #Scanner zu installieren. Canon hat nur Treiber für Windows XP mit letztem Update lange vor dem Ende von XP. Aktuelles Windows kann nichts damit anfangen. Der Gerätemanager erkennt gerade so, dass da ein unbekanntes Gerät von Canon ist
