My brain needs to chill out.

I watched a video complaining about all the rising food costs in the #usa and noticed the person complaining was really big.

Then immediately thought - "Well maybe the rising food costs are a good thing for the 73% of Americans who are obese or overweight." Then horror laughed to myself for a few minutes.

I do think it's a bad thing, especially for poor families.

But maybe MONEY will finally solve the #obesity issue. Replace it with STARVATION!

Hot take: the Metric System is bad compared to the Imperial system because it is based off of base 10.

Seriously.

The prime divisors of 10 are 2 and 5. People routinely divide quantities in half all the time, but when was the last time you divided something into fifths? Hell, dividing something into *thirds* is far more common, and metric forces you to use a frikking repeating decimal!

Imperial, for all its warts, is set up for halves, thirds, fourths, etc much more conveniently.

#HotTake: Every #human should be entitled by international #law to free, unseizeable #ID documents in the form of a travel #passport to evidence their #identity and have #FreedomOfMovement as well as a chance to #flee.

Why?

@juergen_hubert hat eine #Sonntagsfrage auf Mastodon-Umfrage gestartet:

mementomori.social/@juergen_hu

#HotTake: leaving such unnecessary loops in a font is sloppy.

I see these issues everywhere, and as long as it is not solved on the software side, I try to minimize loops or hide them as good as possible.

Sure, one can flatten fonts in print design, but when animating variable fonts with an outline, this won’t work.
