I thought it was fine for instant communications, but I suspected people would stop using <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/email" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>email</span></a>. Although slower, email is great as a more permanent, searchable communications archive. It has worked out as I suspected and everybody has difficulty finding the conversations they had with colleagues. I still have an archive of email from 30 years ago.</p>
