#Duckduckgo kan namelijk gebruikt worden als #proxy voor Youtube.
@sesivany @xChaos @ecosia
Například u videa oni mají pří mém nastavení rozlišení a prohlížeče 10 položek, ale Duck 70 aniž bych musel stránku s výsledky posouvat.

Good alternatives to google, duckduckgo a.s.o. are listed here (german): https://www.kuketz-blog.de/empfehlungsecke/#suchmaschine
I switched to https://www.startpage.com/ (Netherlands) today as i saw that duckduck.go has an "ai" feature ("Popular AI models from: GPT, Claude, Mistral, Llama") now too.
"Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or otherwise unreliable." "Outputs may be offensive." "If you break the law or violate these Terms when using Duck.ai and we get sued, you may have to take responsibility."

I've been using #DuckDuckGo for more than 15 years. What's their positioning regarding what's happening in the US? Should I seek some European alternative? Which one do you recommend?
By the way, are they part of the #Fediverse? Or still mainly on platforms that don't care about #privacy and are aligned with the dictator wanna be?
Does anyone have insight or an article on how duckduckgo assigns regions to your searches by default? What prompts assignment?
This Easter egg in #DuckDuckGo is absolutely adorable.
I've been using #DuckDuckGo for search for years. Haven't used Google in ages. Recently they announced a "noai" version of their search engine at https://noai.duckduckgo.com/. Basically it omits any AI summary, and if you search for images it has the AI images already filtered out. That's about it.
I set it up as my search engine in Firefox (see screenshot). One thing I notice is that it is feels faster. I swear I get my results quicker.
came across a nice browser add-on that disables the generation of AI overviews in search engines like duckduckgo: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/disable-ai/
super useful if you don't keep site data across sessions or if you mostly browse in private windows.
for firefox / librewolf / whatever.
@shufei #Kagi allows you to manually remove sites from search results, as does #DuckDuckGo. While DDG is free, it has a limit of five removed sites and therefore limited utility. And Kagi costs money, if you search more than a hundred times a month. I use neither of them but wish I could remove search results on #Startpage.
#duckduckgo offers "no AI images" when searching for images. This is great. It would be so cool to have a "no AI voice" option when searching videos!
Keeping your #search clean:
this now works in #DuckDuckGo web in both #Firefox and #Librewolf -
blocking sites from all search results,
of course not limited to keeping #amazon from polluting your product searches.
thanks, @stevenray @smp
Sounded like some good features are being added to the #DuckDuckGo browser, so I opened it again on iOS and loaded a test page (CNA news). User settings are set to max #privacy, but DDG still loaded 12 "third party requests," which were mainly analytics and advertising cookies. Sorry DDG, you're still not acting at all like you have "best privacy" in mind. #tech
@susankayequinn to be honest, i was not aware this might be a fake. i just wanted it to be more readable to me. But you made the right call to remove it, i think. I didn't find any hints for this on https://apnews.com/hub/nobel-prizes or google or #duckduckgo. Therefore, thank you so much!
DuckDuckGo can be your go-to search engine with these tricks.
I use the DuckDuckGo browser and sometimes, after I shut down my computer and start it up again, it forgets all the tabs I have open. It’s already set to open the last set of tabs I had opened. I wrote into DDG to let them know. Has anyone else experienced this? And do you have a solution? This is on a PC using Windows 11. Thanks.
