Asked #Meta #AI where #gold comes from and it incorrectly claims it is formed in the Earth's crust. By contrast, the first three search hits from #DuckDuckGo on exactly the same question (mostly) correctly state that it is formed in supernovae explosions and neutron star mergers by the rapid neutron-capture process.

I am trying to #degoogle, one small step at a time. I have been using the browsers and search tools from #duckduckgo, but I increasingly read bullish reviews about Kagi (aleph.press/ffac1c), a paid search engine. Does anyone have experience, and is it really that much better than DDG? #kagi_search #dtv

aleph.press/Kagi - A Better Search Engine - aleph.press/Kagi: A Better Search Engine I read this article (archive) about how Google’s search results not only hide a substantial portion of the internet but can actually cost you more money by promoting prod…

Brave Search is not there yet, but is not entirely unusable, either.

DuckDuckGo, which uses Bing's results, is far gives far more relevant and accurate results.

Brave gets especially worse with Image search. 🙃

On the other hand, in terms of feature parity, Brave is the leader.

It has all kinds of live data like, Sports (Basketball, Cricket, Football, Murican Football, etc.), Financial data (Stock prices, Indices, Currencies & exchange rates), An AI chatbot which can browse the internet, too, etc.

For now, my default will be DDG, but will use Brave on my secondary browser. Let's see 😉
