New proposed government rules could hasten the use of delivery drones in the U.S.

AP News · Drone delivery is poised to expand to millions more US householdsDelivery drones are supposed to be fast, yet the long-promised technology has been slow to take off in the United States. More than six years after the Federal Aviation Administration approved the first commercial home deliveries with drones, the service still is confined to a handful of suburbs. That could soon change. The FAA proposed a new rule last week that would make it easier for companies to fly drones outside of an operator’s line of sight. A handful of companies do that now, but they had to obtain waivers. Walmart, Amazon, DoorDash and the drone companies they work with say they are preparing to make drone-based deliveries available to millions more U.S. households.

Amazon really did not want my mother using that new e-mail address.

My mother wanted to change her e-mail associated with her Amazon account. She'd enter her new e-mail, confirm the code, and oddly be asked to enter her password again — only to be told that she could not use the e-mail with a business account.

We contacted Amazon, and they confirmed she did not have a business account. They also confirmed there is no other account associated with that new e-mail.

Since she had no outstanding orders and no one ever got back to her about why she could not use her new e-mail address, we canceled her Amazon Prime, removed her address book and payment from her old account, and then signed her up for a new account.

The new account has not been used. The only thing on file was her e-mail and address to be used later when she shops. No payment information added yet, either. And a few days later, it's now suspended.

I would love to see a study on how the retail sector has been in Quebec in the last 15 months.

My guess, better overall for the economy and society in the form of:
- More face-to-face interactions
- More street retail foot traffic
- Higher average wages for store employees
- Higher overall wages as there is a higher ratio of entrepreneurship

I'm just speculating here, hence me wanting a study!
