@daniel @stalwartlabs thanks for sharing your experience !
do you think this could be an inspiration for what have now in my hands : a low-volume ( KISS - simple layout ) newsletter / mail batch sending from our own debian server ?
#jmap #mail JSON API s / protocol rocks
thanks again four your feedback
With Mozilla launching Thundermail as a mail provider and knowing the intend to use Stalwart as server implementation, I really hope we start seeing more wide adoption of JMAP. SMTP, IMAP, CalDAV and CardDAV ara really showing its age and limitations.

@ndw I've been a happy customer of #Fastmail (they're on Mastodon, too: @fastmail) since January 2018, and can comfortably recommend them if you're looking for a solid email host.
They're based in #Australia, and have full support for #IMAP, #CalDAV, #CardDAV, as-well as #JMAP if your tool(s) supports that. I like that they only do email and do it well. No ever-expanding product suite of tools I don't really need, nor any confusion on who the customer is. Nice and straight-forward :).
My first RFC has been published! This has been a bucket list item of mine for a long time.
Ultimately I plan to buy a custom domain. I also need to use their party clients. One thing #fastmail had going for it is it uses #jmap.
My concern with fastmail is there lack of #e2ee and also it's based in Australia #fiveeyesgroup
@juliank @alexanderadam I have funding through #NGI and #mobifree to continue working on #Lttrs this year. It’s definitely not dead, but it has been inactive for a bit while waiting for #JMAP servers (@stalwartlabs, etc.) to catch up and maybe for some providers to support it (since not everyone wants to self-host).
@juliank I think @daniel is still maintaining Lttrs for #Android.

But yeah, I think it was an hen
egg problem: there was no broadly available server implementation for
#jmap before @stalwartlabs so I guess the clients have more pressure now.
#JMAP was introduced in July 18, 2019.

@Tutanota what are your plans for the following things:
- support of alternative apps and protocols (#jmap because of mobile)?
- outlook-like app?
- drive-like app?
- standard affordable pricing (not considering blackfriday)?
#Google and #Microsoft offer quite a good package if we ignore privacy nightmares and ads. #Revolutionary costs 3eur for 20gb? That 50% higher price for 20% storage compared to #Google. Ratio is worse for #Microsoft.
#1password : look how easy it was to add support for creating dynamic #email addresses for #fastmail using #JMAP! We'll be happy to add it for other services offering JMAP!
JMAP is an open #standard, RFC 8620
How many #services, #servers, #clients support JMAP?
Hardly any.
Huh.
Uhm, who created and pushed forward that standard?
Ah. Fastmail.
#JMAP sounds like exactly what we need to bring the email experience into the 21st century;
