One of my favourite times of the year: when the trees start to turn green and everything is in bloom at the edge of the forest and in the Streuobst-Wiesen.

"When It Snowed Pink Petals" The annual #CherryBlossomFestival countdown has started here in the #WashingtonMetroArea! We even have a little cherry tree in our front yard!

This hand-painted digital piece was created in Corel Painter from one of my own photos, taken down at the tidal basin in #DC several years ago.

It's talked about every time the local weather guys come on ... there are even contests to see who can guess the peak day. We even have a little cherry tree in our front yard!

Neighbors down the street from the house in which I grew up had a magical tree in their front yard. Looking back down through the tunnel of time, I'm not sure now if it was a cherry tree or a pear tree ... if it bloomed pink or if it bloomed white in the spring. It doesn't really matter.

I just remember standing beneath it and thinking it was snowing. How excited I was. I must have been really little at the time ... at a time when I had not a clue what things like seasons were all about. Not a clue about weather. Why I'd go outside one day and be covered in cherry blossoms ... or kicking golden leaves around ... or sliding down a snowy hill in a sled ... I had no idea. It all just was what it was and I never questioned it.

I figured it out eventually .. but I still find days like these no less magical.

#pruning advice please! I thought this little #CherryTree was dead; is it too late to do a winter pruning? Our cold weather was about two week of frosty nights, last month. The buds are showing green, just.

Also, all the buds are at the very ends of the branches - *can* i prune them without starving it? Prune a fraction, maybe?

I’m trying to follow _Grow A Little Fruit Tree_, am at the 3rd year.
