Die schrägen Ufer-Mauern des Humboldthafens sind mit großflächigen Graffiti versehen, ich sitze auf einer Ochsenblut-Rot bemalten Fläche auf der Berme nahe am Wasser.
Unter der Bahnbrücke wird wieder gebaut - die Fundamentierung ist mangelhaft und die 2002 eröffnete Brücke muss mit Hilfskonstruktionen gestützt werden.
Rechts über mir stehen neue Wohn- und Geschäftshäuser zwischen Hafenbecken, Spandauer Schifffahrtskanal und Invalidenstraße. Am Ufer sitzen Leute und gucken auf die Wasserfläche. Manche gehen auf die alten Kran-Bastionen.

The sloping bank walls of the Humboldt harbour are covered in large areas of graffiti, I am sitting on an area painted oxblood red on the berm close to the water.
Construction is underway again under the railway bridge - the foundations are faulty and the bridge, which opened in 2002, has to be supported with temporary structures.
Above me on the right are new residential and commercial buildings between the harbour basin, Spandauer Schifffahrtskanal and Invalidenstraße. People sit on the banks and look out over the water. Some walk up to the old crane bastions.

Vor dem Bahnhof Jannowitzbrücke ist eine Terrasse zur Spree, da stehen ein paar Tische eines Backdiscounters. Unten kommen Ausflugsschiffe vorbei, an einem Nebentisch haben zwei Männer eine Boom Box mit lautem Gewummer. Sie gehen, und ich höre eine blonde Frau, die ihrem schweigenden Partner ihre Vorschläge für gerechte Strafen für urbane Missetäter mitteilt. Sprayer und ihre Eltern würden wohl interniert und mein Fahrrad wäre auch beschlagnahmt, da ich es am Brückengeländer angeschlossen habe. Diagonal gegenüber ist übrigens die chinesische Botschaft.

Below, excursion boats pass by, and at a neighbouring table two people have a boom box with a loud rumble. They leave and I overhear a blond woman talking to her quite partner, thinking up just punishments for urban offenders. Sprayers and their parents would probably be interned and my bike would also be confiscated because I’ve locked it to the bridge railing. Incidentally, the Chinese embassy is diagonally opposite.
