From time to time I fiddle around with certain ideas, and I came back to this one last week--squared with super-deep grooves! One thing I have learned is that a squared rim looks difficult to drink from, so that I make round as usual, although it is a four sided cup. #ceramics #clay #pottery #art #mastoart

I made a dragon pot for @zmeyche
The body and the lid are wheel thrown. All the other details are sculpted by hand. I fired the dragon in my wood kiln at 1250°C.

i'm trying to stay away from making cups (my pottery comfort zone) but after throwing a bunch of lids and spouts, i had a little nub of clay left, and decided to make this tiny little shot glass or espresso cup 'for fun'. it's sooo cute!!! These will be great for glaze testing.
