Really just a devlog! I slapped a #mcclim #gui onto my simulation so that I could click a button rather than type actions over and over again.
Then, I really just figured out that one simple-starting-arrangement idea I had doesn't work, because the only vertical move that gets triggered is from the lowest row of a tile to the highest row of the same tile.
Small "improvements".
I also wrote a little #devlog about it:
@pixelberk testing building pickups.
The idea is to spawn resources in a semi-randomized radius around buildings. And they get added to the resource counter when picked up.
I gave a talk this morning for members of the French Collège Code Sources et Logiciels as part of the national Ouvrir la science! effort, discussing #RSEng & @us_rse
I hope this leads to some alignment & collaboration between RSE associations & the French #DevLOG community (https://www.devlog.cnrs.fr)

And the same post is now up on our website with no cookies and no "are you human?" check.

Just posted a recap of the progress this month. ( Dev Log # 5.2 )
Featuring @pixelberk , @esklarski, @khaleer Lolokin and Elsa Serka.
Read it here for free: https://www.patreon.com/posts/dev-log-5-2-and-132713056
This week, @khaleer integrated some buildings in game as we gradually move away from colorful cube to represent buildings and towards GLTF meshes.
@pixelberk Also progressed on the inventory system that stores resources for crafting, expedition supplies, and story items.
Me trying to enter BIOS/UEFI every time
Devlog #14:
KEMOVERSE REACHES VERSION 1.1
TL;DR:
We're developing a Free software Gacha-TCG playable from the within the fediverse and we've reached the first milestone.
Here's the current stuff that has been implemented:

- Time-based limitations on rolls
- Explicit account creation/deletion
- PLEROMA SUPPORT??
Shout-out to moon for carrying it all by himself and implementing it in an afternoon.
Version 2.0 is planned to have:
- Duels
- Card Creator
- Stat system
- Trading
- Inventory
- Default card bundle :pleroma_fox_tan:
- Standard card template
- Banners
More info can be found in our repository: https://git.waifuism.life/waifu/kemoverse
I want to give a thank to the devs that have started working on my silly project, (no particular order) VD15, Nyanide, pwm, Moon, Munir, Naiji, and everyone that has commented, liked, repeated or someway be interested in the project.
You're all awesome.
How are we continuing?
The development continues steadily on our free time.
I'm slowly also making cards as we go, to try out new styles, and search for a consistent art-style, at least for the first batch.
Based on the poll that I made the other day:
https://mai.waifuism.life/notes/a8pd3yavp1a700qv
The most wanted types of cards and their votes were:
- Niche anime 65
- Inside Jokes 71
- Original characters 82
- Fedi admins 99 votes
- OS-tans (fedi mascots too) 135 votes!!
I'll be focusing on these kinds of cards for the first batch, but any recommendations are still appreciated.

#programming #oop #commonLisp #GUI #app #McCLIM #gamedev #devlog https://screwlisp.small-web.org/lispgames/hurkling-onwards/ #hurkle
Well, it's pretty graphical now. Yes, table columns goofily resize and the history of button presses appear in the interactor shell: Really I just wanted to show you those features working.
Next article, I'll add two more asks and "launch" the game on itch.io.
Anyone else have a McCLIM show-and-tell?
And I was too tired to actually include a link to the #devlog . Fixed now^

I added a gui to my Hurkle vintage game. Kinda burned out today. Anyway, you can see it working.
#article Shows how McCLIM declaratively and orthogonally generates graphical interface windows for an existing underlying game-logic class.
With some apologies to @jackdaniel @mdhughes .

I wrote a lisp class that is meant to be Bob Albrecht's Hurkle vintage game. I only know what this was by @mdhughes linking me it once.
Git in link somewhere. Has anyone actually played Hurkle? How realistic was I?
I'll translate Hurkle to McCLIM and parenscript kitten tomorrow or something.
Dev-Log # 5.2 - Crafting UI progress
@esklarski and @pixelberk are working on crafting UI and shipbuilding.
The solar foundry can now toggle between producing ingots or steel plates and has a nice bounce animation when you add more yardies (workers).
The ship system now seems to scale nicely from 2 inventory slots to 27. Larger ships have two engines.
