I'm here to give the people what they want... and they want high FOV
Final production board for Cell Sword. Even the smallest games take a lot of planning. From this board 460+ tasks were generated (435 are closed) to get to v1.0.0
What I like about this is you can see visually even without text how by the end (the far right) the story beats, missions and monsters are all integrated at a high level
@haukethiessen I was quite taken by your blog and have implemented an FPS selector in my game (Cell Sword). Thanks for the suggestion!
The option to run at, say, 30 fps is such a good idea.
Cell Sword hit release candidate today! As far as I can tell it is ready for release.
Last minute addition of a ping ability that sends out a cute little wobbly pulse and then highlights the nearest enemy
Programming the "insane" difficulty on a retro 6DoF shooter is actually a lot of fun, now I know why they had them hehehehe
The first game I ever sold was an ANSI art BBS game that you had to wait for the letters to print on the screen and now here I am years later delivering motion and light and drama. It feels good.
Is it funny? I think it's funny. Fake ads (blipverts?) in Cell Sword to give it a touch of Robocop.
In-game it's got music and subtitles etc.
I got the axis wrong on the head tracking and my monster went from remorseless death machine to petulant cat

11 / 13 levels at first draft. Woot. Just "Battle of the Red Blood Cell" and "Desecrated" left to do.
Working on the last "big level" (it's from early in the game but I saved it til last) and pulling out all the stops. Spared no expense. All killer no filler etc etc
"Body Quake" finished. Which means 9 out of 13 levels for Cell Sword are at first draft. Another three are close behind and only the fourth is really incomplete. Not quite light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel but not far off.
In this level you get injected into the wrong part of the body and I think we're in for some weirdness.
I've made this maze level and I really liked adding the green parts but playing the level they are confusing but I'm not quite ready to let them go. Will sleep on it.
Having a lot of fun designing Descent-style levels for Cell Sword. I don't have a name for this level yet but thinking "The Eyes Have It" or "The Mote In God's". Happy to take suggestions!
