So if I use Aurora Store to install/ update my bank app I get a "You did not use Google Play Store. Please reinstall and see your bank" and then I cannot do any banking/payments digitally or get cardless cash out unless I have the Gstore version.
This is pretty much the only reason I can't fully de-Google. Money/payments/transactions in Thailand are very much app oriented.
I am aware I can just carry cash but fuck it, I shouldn't have to!

If anyone is curious, my current Android setup is as follows:

I use #NeoStore or #Droidify (currently Neo Store, the new stats support is just too tempting) with the #IzzyOnDroid repo as primary app source, the #FDroid repo as secondary.

If I need something not on either of those, I will use #AuroraStore to access #GooglePlay.

Random APKs from GitHub or whatever only in very very specific cases. I will generally wait until the app drops on F-Droid or (preferably) IzzyOnDroid.

I must install the Interrail Android app in order to to activate my Interrail ticket, but Aurora Store tells me the app is not available for my device. How can I get it? I could maybe download the APK from Apkpure, but I’d use it as the last resort, since I don’t know how trustworthy it is.

I’m using a Fairphone 5 running CalyxOS 6.8.21, and Aurora Store v4.7.2, downloaded from F-Droid all features are enabled in MicroG. Already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Aurora

TIL: You can install the #Bitwarden #Android App through their F-Droid Repo, which has to be added manually.

In contrast to the #GooglePlay or #AuroraStore version, the F-Droid version seems to not connect to Google Services all the time.

Another option would be using #Obtainium, which would also result in faster access to app updates.

Hey #mastodon . Just wondering, could you suggest some #zombie games for #android ? I've tried many mainstream #zombiegames before but, the one I really liked was #thewalkingzombie and #thewalkingzombie2.

I'm looking for games that I can run reasonably on a midrange phone, not like #lifeafter or games of that caliber.

Another plus point would be if it's single player and offline.

Det har vært ett stort spørsmålstegn for meg de siste ukene, fordi eg har drevet med å #avGoogle (#degoogle på #norsk) Pixel telefonen min.

Eg har erstattet Google Play med #fdroid #aurorastore, varierende standard apps med #fossify, samt at eg har flyttet Google Workspace til en blanding av #Tutanata og #Proton.

Muligens eg lager en video for å oppsummere reisen.

Confirmed. InPost #app really couldn't work on degoogled #Android phones. Possible to install e.g. via #AuroraStore but during launch it hangs on error message about lacking #PlayServices.

Mais attention...
