@rustlang is another organisation that quit X. They don't cite particular reasons but the decline in the "openness" of the platform which is increasingly reserved for authenticated users might be one of them. In addition, changes in the algorithm and politics might have played some role. Warm welcome to the #rustaceans !

(Ps if you are not familiar with #rust, it is a modern programming language initially developed at #mozilla that is getting some traction recently)

The announcement of “Thundermail” (I.e. Thunderbird Pro) reads more like envy than a valid justification for monetisation.

Sure, Thunderbird might remain free, but it sows doubts as to whether any meaningful new feature will be added to it.

Why anyone would believe that they will intentionally hamper their own monetisation efforts for goodwill at this point, is frankly beyond me.

Update: Account successfully deleted. Tried again after a few days and it just worked™ without errors. I'm still uncertain why this happened or why there would be a time limit in the first place.

Original post: Trying to delete my #Firefox account via accounts.firefox.com gives me this. Appeared the first time i tried, re-appeared after a 15 min. wait and still appears an hour later. Any hints would be greatly appreciated. #mozilla #gdpr #dsgvo

I don't have Bing configured as my default search engine, I don't even have Bing configured as a search engine in #Firefox, and yet here it is after the latest update.

Is this another of #Mozilla user hostile decisions?
