Ich habe mich nun dazu durchgerungen, zwei unterschiedliche Browser auf meinen Geräten zu verwenden.
Mobil funktioniert Safari wirklich gut. Vor allem mit diversen Ad-Blockern und dann auch endlich mit #youtube.
Firefox funktioniert dan #ublockorigin Extension ohnehin prima mit Youtube. (1/4)
Strange #bug in #Thunderbird 1:128.9.0esr-1 on #Debian testing: In "plain text" view, I don't see attachments (here: a PDF document). Only when I change to HTML view. Or when I forward the message. Still investigating.

They don't cite particular reasons but the decline in the "openness" of the platform which is increasingly reserved for authenticated users might be one of them. Blocking #google #youtube #ads on #apple devices ain't easy.
The best way to block ads on an Apple #mac is using #mozilla #firefox and the extension #ublockorigin. There is no better way, unless you want to pay Google.
The second best on a mac is using Google #chrome and #ublockoriginlight, which wokrs with the new version of Chrome. The full ublock origin extension doesn't, though. (1/5)

If I were Mozilla I'd just put a blockchain into Firefox. And then use smart contracts for showing ads to people. Also they should just replace the address bar with a chatbot. What are URLs anyway?

The announcement of “Thundermail” (I.e. Thunderbird Pro) reads more like envy than a valid justification for monetisation.
Sure, Thunderbird might remain free, but it sows doubts as to whether any meaningful new feature will be added to it.
Why anyone would believe that they will intentionally hamper their own monetisation efforts for goodwill at this point, is frankly beyond me.

Alternativ kann man den #mozilla #firefox Browser mitsamt #ublockorigin Plugin verwenden oder benutzt die Light-Varieante mit #google #chrome. Für #apple #safari gibt es Addblocker (9,99 Euro/Jahr), welche den Job recht gut übernehmen ...
Update: Account successfully deleted. Tried again after a few days and it just worked™ without errors. I'm still uncertain why this happened or why there would be a time limit in the first place.

I’m gonna say it louder for the folks in the back: Mozilla is not what you think it is. Mozilla is not what they say they are. Mozilla is just another for-profit Silicon Valley tech company that has a not-for-profit doing its PR.

Strong point by #Schibsted: we tried to move away from #Google #Ads when #GDPR came into force but lost so much money we had to go back. 
And that's where the event ends. Lots to think about, not very convinced about what #Mozilla is doing.
Glad to see #Rob from #FPF brings up #Kobler's #contextualads solution as a viable alternative to #RTB and #SurveillanceAdvertising.
Also makes a super important point about mandatory #DoNotTrack signals in browsers.
IMO this is what #Mozilla should be working towards, not making #Firefox as a data collection platform.
