Holy fuck, now I know why my very first printer (Anycubic Mega X) always had leveling issues. This is bed mesh of the glass plate.

Using the #Prusa MK4S with MMU3 in my local hackerspace today I realized how old my old printers indeed are. Even on the slower setting the MK4S is just SO much faster than my trusty old #Anycubic Mega X, and I'm pretty sure also my highly modified i3 Mega is just barely as quick, not to mention way less of a "just works" experience.

Thinking about getting a newer 3D printer in 2025 and, instead of upgrading my old Anycubic Mega X as I did to my i3 Mega, turning that frame into a combined laser engraver & plotter.

The Creality K1C looks promising. Or I wait a little bit and save up and go balls-against-the-walls (a Voron). Mmh.

I don’t much like gendered pronouns, so in English I try to use they/them, and you can call me by handle or by display name, either works.
I’m a software developer, working primarily with .NET technologies. I’m addicted to #TTRPG and currently GM and play #Pathfinder2e and play the old edition of #Pathfinder. On the side, I get fascinated quite easily by shiny #Tech, so right now I’m experimenting with #3DPrinting, I own an #Anycubic Kobra that’s serving me quite well in my quest for the perfect home organization. I love #Writing and #Reading (mostly fantasy), though I’ve kinda stopped both in the last few months.
I have been off of social media for years (not counting Reddit, RIP), but I am enjoying the interactions on Mastodon so far (and the Fediverse at large).
