I'm trying to decipher some ingredients in a US cookbook. I think I've worked out everything, except when it refers to "chicken base" - I don't think this is the same as chicken stock (???). Does anyone know for sure? Can chicken stock be used instead? ("Chicken base" isn't something we have here)

For example, on award-winning writer John Chu's profile page, you can highlight this to grab:

But the rest of his handle, his instance address, is in a different color. Copy/paste them both, and you get:
@john_chuwandering.shop

Which seems to lack maybe an "@" separator?

Thought I'd copy/pasted handles before, easily. Did something change? What am I obliviously missing?

Stupid Mastodonian question:

How do I copy a Mastodon user's whole handle so I can just paste it into my post & not risk a typo?

I've tried finding one of their own posts, dragging over their handle to highlight it—but as soon as I finish the highlight, Mastodon switches to a closeup page for that post. And trying to grab their handle on THAT page instead is also thwarted, because the whole handle section now seems to be an image, not copy/pasteable text…

Je serai curieux de savoir si d'autres (+45 ans) que moi ont ce que j’appellerai des "bouffées de nostalgie" ? Ça peut se déclencher à la vue d'un objet ou d'une scène. Je dis "bouffé" parce que ça survient d'un coup, physiquement comme une bouffée de chaleur. C'est mêlé à une légère tristesse, une mélancolie... mais avec un brin de bonheur rétrospectif.

#Question: how do you figure out what videos you've embedded in your pptx files without turning on connected experiences?

I have a huge portfolio of slides I use in my teaching, and most of them have super interesting video clips embedded in them. But I can no longer play these videos, or even access metadata so I can figure out what they actually are, without turning on #ConnectedExperiences...which, for reasons, ain't happening.

How hot can a tube amp get?
I'm in a 78 F room and the amp's been on more than an hour, volume at around 2, and the back plate is warm enough to hurt a bit but not burn, just like candle wax.

Is that normal?

I ask because it still blows a fuse if I take it off standby while warm, and it worries me a bit.
