Happy birthday, Harold Lloyd!

My dear dad made sure I was brought up in the Faith: plenty of Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton, Laurel & Hardy, Tom & Jerry, and Bugs Bunny. He's been n his 80s now, and we still rewatch these together, and roar with laughter every time.

Henry Arthur Barrows (April 29, 1875 – March 25, 1945) was an American actor who appeared in films from 1913 to 1936.

Despite having viewed #TheGoldRush at least eight times, I missed a trivia question on it last night so will watch the 1925 #SilentFilm classic a ninth time as an Act of Contrition.

Watching #JacquesTati film #Trafic, which is fine for one who likes visual gags.

Tonight in 1953 — Harold Lloyd was presented with an honorary Oscar.

It was his first (and only) Academy Award — on the Oscars' first-ever TV broadcast.

"The fast and pronounced editing style generates a form of expressionist editing that communicates individual and mass neuroses and sexual desire. The result, to borrow a phrase from Béla Balázs, conveys the crowd’s most 'expressive expression'.
