I both love and hate #editing. I love it because I usually enjoy reading my own stories and improving them bit by bit. And I hate it because I'm happy with the text except for ONE WORD that takes 3 fucking hours to replace.
We still have a few #workspaces available to rent at our fabulous #CoWorking office #textetage in #Berlin-#Kreuzberg!
Most of the people working here are from the fields of #journalism, #editing, #translation, #science ...
All info at: https://www.textetage.com/en/available-spaces.html
I editing is by far the worst part of the writing experience...

::mounts soapbox::
I will fight the term "fiction novel" with every shred of my being until I am no longer drawing a breath or possessing a pulse.
It's redundant.
Novels are fiction.
Fiction encompasses many kinds of writing, of which novels are but one. If it's made up, it's fiction.
You can have a "biographical novel," which uses facts about a person as part of the invented story. You can have "speculative fiction," novels that fit into science fiction. fantasy, magical realism, and so on. But they're invented, so they're fiction. Novels. Fiction.
A biography is nonfiction. History is nonfiction (even if we don't like the slant the writer/s give it). Textbooks for hard sciences are nonfiction. Business books are nonfiction (I'll wait for you to stop laughing. I get it. Believe me.)
Novels are fiction. It's in the definition. No need to be redundant.

Feeling joyful today: I’m grateful that #editing for all of my #physician–#authors gives me #opportunities to #learn constantly. These are such highly #intelligent #professionals.

More backyard shenanigans:
I don't have pictures because the buggers are damn fast but there are 3 squirrels who like to torment anyone else in the yard they rule with an iron paw...
This is including Godzilla (the first pic I posted) although he likes to chase and go after these assholes too... one of them is also big but not quite as big as Godzilla so we named him (her?) Mothra
The third is currently nameless
Even Lexie didn't want what they were selling
I'm so excited that Dr. Barbara Gastel’s #book #Medical #Editing: A Guide to Learning the Craft and Building Your Career will soon be #published! It's the first #textbook about our #profession! I had the honor of reviewing the #manuscript.

It's so exciting when I get to unwaprd a package I've been waiting for!
Proofreading: it matters!
#Kdenlive 25.04.1 is out with several fixes and improvements.
Now for at least one of those pictures I promised:
This is the first animal we found in the yard. He is a mean cocky squirrel who is twice as large as any of the other squirrels in the yard
Obviously he got too close to a power plant...
But he's practically here every day being the little shit he is to many of the other animals
The trouble with dangling modifiers. New blog post:

Originally I started making all my videos look old, like they were film or a VHS running on an old TV, as a way to both save storage space as I could use 24 FPS, and lower res, and not have it look like garbage, as well as a form of artistic expression as I just thought it looked cool.
I now have more storage, and I think I'll keep doing it anyway.
Makes my Videos on #scoopz stand out as nobody else seems to have a similar style.
Some days the #news is just so MESSED UP I freeze and don't know what #videos to make.
Today's one of those days.
I only have the focus to make about two or three. Otherwise I spend all day researching and trying to record a #rant that is satisfying to me.
The #editing process is actually the easy part - takes me about 5 minutes to add filters and effects, and whatever outro I choose.
Narrowing down what's most important is hard.
More cooffffeee.
Taking my first dip into the @kdenlive pool. I'll still need Resolve for specific things related to my paid work but whenever I can, I'll support something free and community maintained. Loving it so far and impressed with how feature packed it is.
Alright masto, I need a spell checker for notepad++. preferably a working dspell, or something that lists all the misspellings in a document. Please boost for reach. #Notepad++ #writingLife #editing
