Dignity

The statue is located on a bluff overlooking the Missouri River near Chamberlain, South Dakota. The stainless steel, 50-foot-tall statue was designed by sculptor Dale Lamphere to honor the cultures of the Lakota and Dakota people. In his own words:

"Dignity represents the courage, perseverance and wisdom of the Lakota and Dakota culture in South Dakota. My hope is that the sculpture might serve as a symbol of respect and promise for the future."

Parasaurolophus mount

I think this was my best work so far.
Inspired by the book Dinotopia, which I loved as a child. Hand sculpted from Super Sculpey polymer clay and painted.

visited the #Oxfordshire Museum at #Woodstock today and learned about #MichaelBlack, the #sculptor who created the current incarnation of the Emperors heads outside the Sheldonian, as well as other works for #Oxford University and its colleges. This bronze house commemorates the demolished house that once stood on the same location in Stitswerd. With 53 inhabitants, such a small change means a lot. One of the last residents of the house was a hunter with a dog named Nellie. There's a letter hidden inside the sculpture, a time capsule for the future...
