Galaxy Tab S10 receives the August security update!

This month, Samsung has released the August security update for the Galaxy Tab S10, almost three months after the last security patch, which was the May update. This is expected, given that the tablet is eligible for quarterly security patch updates instead of the monthly ones.

This is a security update that improves your tablet’s security and upgrades your Android security patch level from May 2025 to August of this year to accommodate the security bugs that were reported from May to August. It also upgrades the bootloader version from v3 to v4 so that the rollback to previous updates becomes impossible.

Currently, it’s only available in Korea, but it will be expanded to other regions starting next week.

The following firmware information is available:

  • SM-X820: X820XXS4BYH1 [KOO]
  • SM-X826N: X826NKOS4BYH1 [KOO]
  • SM-X920: X920XXS4BYH1 [KOO]
  • SM-X926N: X926NKOS4BYH1 [KOO]

To update your tablet, navigate to Settings > Software Updates > Download and Install. Then, if the update is available, you should see the next update screen, and you can identify it with the above version applicable to your device model. Press Install Now, and let it download over Wi-Fi. After that, press Reboot. The tablet should then be updated to the August security patch.

Make sure that your tablet is fully charged before you attempt to initiate the update. Never interrupt the update in any way, or problems could occur later. Make sure to let your tablet download the update from Wi-Fi to avoid mobile data charges.

Blender 3D will come to Samsung tablets!

Samsung is creating powerful flagship tablets that run the latest and the greatest of both the hardware and the software, including the last year’s flagship, which is the Galaxy Tab S10. While Samsung was working on the next flagship series, which is the Galaxy Tab S11 that will use even more powerful hardware, an unexpected happened!

The Blender project team announced that they needed to support their mission of making 3D modeling accessible to everyone. As part of their efforts to fulfill their mission, they’ve promised us the tablet version of the Blender 3D modeling software to expand the list of supported platforms from just computers to the powerful tablets. This is officially announced via their own blog.

Initially, the Blender team will release their tablet version to iPad Pro devices with Apple Pencil, which will require the latest version of iPadOS to work properly. This is served to gain initial feedback for the Blender tablet version.

Android users will have to wait longer, as the Blender team will eventually release Blender for many powerful Android tablets, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S series. The user interface will be changed with reduced clutter to make sure that you’re able to use Blender without any distraction.

The tablet port will use your device’s native graphics card support to power 3D models, which brings increased performance. Additionally, as tablets are getting more powerful, the need for computers is reduced. Furthermore, the same tools that are available on the desktop version will be immediately available on tablets, too!

This is going to be the most historical event for both iPad users and Android tablet users!

You’ll be able to download Blender through the App Store (iPads) and the Google Play Store (Samsung and other flagship Android tablets) soon.
