Today I went for another #StupidMentalHealthWalk. Much the same route, but a little longer - 3km. I've got sore feet again😂, but felt better. Quite warm, not stinking hot.

The photo is a little #Jacaranda in the local park. They're mostly finished on the plains, but this was flowering well. Most Jacarandas up here don't flower until they already have some leaves, *unlike* this one.

Not Australian, but very widely grown. Very popular. Potential to become a weed.

It's jacaranda season in Australia, and these beautiful trees are blooming with an abundance of vivid purple! 💜

So showy and ubiquitous, jacarandas can be mistaken for natives, but they originate in South America. So, how did this species become a symbol of Australian spring?
