# Setting up ActivityPub server snac in under 15 minutes
Just a few notes on setting up snac, which was remarkably straightforward.

What is the easiest way to get a #snac instance for testing it with Tusky
Edit: I got helped, thanks fedi
The week's side quest is mostly installing #alpinelinux on 1st gen Raspberry Pis in "diskless" mode.
I've got at least three of the things gathering dust, and I love the challenge of working with limited hardware.
Diskless mode runs everything in RAM and needs a git-like "lbu commit" command to persist changes. This speeds things up a LOT and should mean the SD card lasts a long time.
This started as an experiment and now somehow I'm replacing most of my infrastructure with it.
I now have an experimental #snac instance, AdGuard Home for the kids and it's not stopping there...
snac(1)
for more information). For those (all 2 of you) wondering what happened to my #snac instance, I decided that the limitations while initially well intentioned, were now less limiting due to the scope of the project and features being added over time - meaning it was almost back to a full-featured platform and I might as well be back on something like this.
So #Akkoma was, for me, the logical choice spin up. I see in the documentation it has #ejabberd integration, so might yet utilise that so I can sign into #xmpp with the same account, which would be kinda cool.
I am running both #prosody and #ejabberd for testing and am unsure which I prefer as yet. Possibly ejabberd for the webmin, which is quite nice.
Does anyone have a screenshot of Gargron's first Mastodon post?I don't have such a gem, but I have here the first #snac post. Yes, I know the relevancy is astronomically inferior, but not for me
The last #snac release fixes a problem with the Mastodon API. Now, apps (or webapps like Phanpy) properly work as the "inifite scrolling" has been fixed. Thanks, Stefano. To be fair, the merit for this fix goes to @cheeaun@mastodon.social (Phanpy's author), who brought to my attention where the problem was.
