"Muzak for the Encouragement of Unproductivity sonically addresses utopic notions of seamless, efficient productivity, inherent to capitalist cultures, and their very real dystopic effects from labour exploitation to the impacts of over-production on the environment."

Best. Album. Title. Ever!

I'd describe it as soothing ambient made with tuba, trumpet & clarinet. Relaxing music for slackers to snooze the alarm clock & doze off a bit more.

New Coma Cinema album "Grand Delusion" is out. Just what our current global collective predicament needs.

From "Pony Up": 'find humor in despair if you want to live in this world' and that sums up Coma Cinema pretty well to me

If you like dark sometimes depressive observations about life with lofi pop music you should check out Coma Cinema & all other musical projects from Matthew Lee Cochran.

Roughly 23-25 years ago I was a 12-14 year old metalhead with a very negative and limited view on any and all electronic music. (and I pretty much referred to all electronic music as techno, which tells us a lot about my limited knowledge at that time)

My brother (bless his memory) was a bit of a scatterbrain and he would leave his cd's in the weirdest locations. One day I found some weird featureless caseless cd on the floor in one of my family's cars (with no cd player). It might have had a record label logo on it and perhaps something mentioning "halo". I instantly thought it was my brother's and given the fact I discovered many of my then favorite metal/rock bands through him (and his random cd's left in random locations) I decided to give it a listen.

I went back home and popped the cd in and it changed my outlook on music forever. It opened my ears.

"I didn't know electronic music could sound like this?"
