@daieuxetdailleurs

Autographs

In 1971, my older brother and I attempted to collect the autographs of all the world leaders. We kept a detailed record of who we wrote to, who responded, and how long it took. The project lasted for several years. Here are some of our treasures!

1) Albert-Bernard Bongo, Gabon
2) Park Chung Hee, South Korea
3) Anwar Sadat, Egypt
4) Indira Ghandi, India

Orrrrrr 🙄🙈🥲

✅ optimzed Dockerfile¹ for final image size
✅ found a neat Java app², to get normal APKs back from APKM or XAPK files
❌ all apps showed up after "fdroid update" 🧐

Ah, well: converting these apps to a normal APK makes their signature not verify anymore 🙈

Sure, I could resign them with my repos own key. 💁🏼
But that would still not make it possible to update from older versions without reinstall 🥲

So, now I'm back to my initial statement: Orrrrrr 🙄

Dear subscribers,

recently I came across #http #signatures in #ActivityPub again and wrote down what I found this time.

In the meantime, @j12t pointed me at an excellent @w3c report, which gave food to my suspicion that it serves no usecase and is possibly a cargo cult.

After posting to lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/p I got word that it solves the sender-legitimation in a simple way.

I'm eager to hear your take on it.

@kwf well, I do plan to use #HTTP + #OpenPGP-#Signatures for @OS1337 packages and distribute OS/1337 release images via #BitTorrent exclusively...

But that's just because I have #Sysadmin experience with #narrowband comnectivity and acknowledge that a #SquidProxy on #ipFire is a way easier and more convenient option to #cache and #mirror than spinning up a custom #repo m-server to mirror distros...

Also #CA's can and will be more likely to provide #LEAs with #Certificates to duplicate than a #distro would...

Still, #upcycling #ThinClients as #MiniServers is nifty and I myself use several #t620's for such purposes like #backups, #downloads and #Torrenting #FLOSS #distros...
