#Oxfam has said the airdrops into #Gaza are wholly inadequate for the population’s needs and has called for the immediate opening of all crossings for full humanitarian access into the territory devastated by relentless #Israeli bombardments and a partial aid blockade.

Bushra Khalidi, Oxfam policy lead for the Occupied #Palestinian territory, said:

Deadly airdrops and a trickle of trucks won’t undo months of engineered starvation in Gaza.

What’s needed is the immediate opening of all crossings for full, unhindered, and safe aid delivery across all of Gaza and a permanent ceasefire. Anything less risks being little more than a tactical gesture.

The #Palestinian health ministry said on Monday that Hams, who also oversees field hospitals in the #Gaza Strip, was on his way to visit the #ICRC facility in northern #Rafah when undercover #Israeli soldiers opened fire, killing one person and wounding another civilian, before capturing him.

The person killed was a local journalist who had been conducting an interview with al-Hams at the time of the attack.

“Netanyahu is prepared to make significant concession in the negotiations for a ceasefire and partial hostage release deal and under his instructions, the [army] is preparing to withdraw to new positions in the strip, including a withdrawal from the Morag Corridor,” the Israeli newspaper’s electronic site Ynet wrote on 18 July.

“#Netanyahu's decision was part of his added pressure to reach a partial hostage release deal as soon as possible … He instructed the #Israeli delegation to the talks to remain in Doha in the hope that a deal could be reached within days,” it added.

The #NewYorkTimes has published an op-ed by a genocide scholar who says that he resisted acknowledging the truth of what #Israel is doing in #Gaza for as long as he could, but can no longer deny the obvious.

It’s an admission that may as well have come from The New York Times itself.

In an article titled “I’m a Genocide Scholar. I Know It When I See It.”, a Brown University professor of Holocaust and #genocide studies named #OmerBartov argues that “Israel is literally trying to wipe out #Palestinian existence in Gaza,” and denounces his fellow #Holocaust scholars for failing to acknowledge reality.
