[P] This is the moral way to think, the way that a person who respects themselves and others thinks, this is how someone who isn't delusional and recognises the cost-of-living crisis thinks. But hiverarchy? "Oh, help me, my corporate megaparasite masters! I am your slavish waif, your chattel, your null humuncili, smooth-between-the-ears! Others think for themselves and it terrifies me! Oh, rescue me!" And that's terrifying to me.

[P] I'm notbgoing to buy a Switch 2 but let's say that I did. If I could install my own software, emulators, and web-storefront indie games on it, the games didn't cost $80-90 at launch, and there were Steam-like sales and eventual permanent price-drops (like the WiiU had)? I would have no interest in hacking this hypothetical Switch 2. Nintenfo primed people to want to hack it by being grossly greedy and unethical! That's on them.

[P] I mean, call me old-fashioned and/or not a slavish hiverarchian sycophant but I think that it you buy a thing, you should be able to do what you want with it. See, the funny thing is is if Nintendo took the Steam approach and focused their DRM on protecting initial sales, and if they had Steam-like discounts for those struggling woth cost-of-living? There'd be no one trying to hack the Switch 2. Even pirates are underserved customers.

So, the firmware of the Switch 2 (a physical product) is hacked and the response by Nintendo fans is to @ Nintendo, and also the FBI. "Help! People are thinking for themselves! Save me, corporate megaparasite overlords! Save me!" ...okeydokey, reality, point made.
