Mountain Bluebird
This is one of my favorite photographs, which I made on a moody autumn day on US 550 looking down on the Animas River flowing past the base of Kendall Mountain just south of Silverton, Colorado.

I didn't have a lot of time and the light was not the greatest, but my first and only visit to White Sands in the spring of 2023 was inspiring nonetheless. I can't wait to get back out there.

This tree-framed view of Twilight Peak from the Crater Lake Trail on Saturday highlights the awe-inspiring textures of the mountains that make up the West Needle range.
Though it is a parasitic plant, this specimen of Pedicularis groenlandica—aka Elephant's head—that I encountered yesterday morning may be one of the coolest wildflowers I've ever photographed.
It was a beautiful morning yesterday as the sun rose above the San Juan Mountains at Andrews Lake.
