The prompt is #Movement

J. Ralph, “The Illusionary Movements of Geraldine and Nazu” 2005, featuring “One Million Miles Away”

This album is an odd one, comprising straight #symphonic tracks, some with #operatic vocals, as well as tracks with those elements integrated with pop melody and #turntabilism touches. “One Million Miles Away” is one of the latter.

I first heard this track in a car commercial that debuted during the 2001 Super Bowl; my search began. At great pains (old style, pre-#Shazam), I ID’d it as a hidden leading track on a 1999 CD “Music to Mauzner By.” by an artist known as SPY. A hidden LEADING track? I got the #CD but never figured out how to navigate to it and get it to play.

I am nothing if not persistent. Some years later I connected the SPY moniker to producer/composer J. Ralph and found “One Million Miles Away” as a listed, conventionally playable track on “The Illusionary Movements…” Sigh of relief.

Subject: Movement
Song: "Darshan (The Road to Graceland)" (1993; 17:17)
Performed by: Robert Fripp, David Sylvian

Movement implies, in some cases, the existence of a road –
"One light
One way
One road
To take
We stand
And wait

From cool
To warm
From dusk
'til dawn
From flux
To form

Kneeling on the road to Graceland …"

Song: "Rat Trap" (1978)
Performed by: The Boomtown Rats

Here you go, sing along:
"You walk up to those traffic lights, switch from your left to your right
You push in that button and that button comes alight
It tells you "Walk don't walk, walk don't walk
"Talk don't talk, talk don't talk"
"Walk don't walk, walk don't walk
"Talk don't talk, talk don't talk"
Hey, Billy, take a walk, take a walk, take a walk (3 x)
Hey, Billy, take a walk with me …"

Song: "Underture" (1969; 10:04)
Performed by: The Who

From the "rock opera" titled "Tommy", "Underture" plays on the the word "overture", which is a symphonic piece of music that serves as an musical introduction to a ballet, opera, or oratorio, and later as an independent concert piece. Both styles incorporate movements. Pete Townshend's "underture" uses movements to describe an LSD experience (so they say …).

That moment when you're getting some movement & it's taking you to the moon? Jo nails that heat here in #Esperanto:

🎶 Ame, li moviĝas
Mole tuŝas ombrajn partojn de mi
Kare li kuŝigas
Min en liton ne konata de ni
Volo min bruligas
Superfluas min deziro je li
Kreskigu la anticipon
Bonvenas la esplorado
Mia Dio! Kia stango 🎶

Some people have been asking me about the photo on our profile (not the logo)it was taken in 2022 when we were many who had joined the #movement, but along the way some left, some went to #universities, and others didn’t want to continue serving the #community we took that photo at my former #school and it reminds us of where we started we developed the ideas of #sustainable projects and #eco-friendly activities from different places and people, and that is the way we can fight #hiddenhunger.

AuDHD – Stimming

As an (undiagnosed) kid, there were several things I did that calmed me. If I could not do them, I’d be more distressed. I never knew this was considered stimming, and that it could have been an indicator of my NeuroSpicy-ness.

I’ll share a bit about what stimming is below the read more, as I guess not everyone knows what it is. Heck, I didn’t even know until I started reading up more on autism and adhd.
