If you have a chance, all the #Fedicon 2025 sessions so far are worth a watch. But if you're strapped for time, here are the two (so far) I found most interesting.
These aren't app demos! Rather they are discussions about bringing the concept of decentralized systems and owning your data to the masses.
@cyberlyra discusses this in relation to the project Tech Reclaimers, an outreach program @TheBulletin
I am working on editing @julian 's FediCon 2025 talk right now.
Once it is edited, I will upload it to the FediCon PeerTube account:
Driving through the rocky mountains to #FediCon was amazing, Jasper Alberta is so dang beautiful, it's hard to describe.

This was such a fun panel to be a part of at @fedicon!
Huge thanks to @deadsuperhero for the fantastic hosting and moderating #Fedicon
I am very honored to have been able to hold this #FediCon panel. It was absolutely amazing being around so many inspiring people, and turned out to be a really solid talk.

Just donated to @iftas.
Truth is, I hadn’t planned to. But after getting dogpiled for daring to talk to @jaz at #Fedicon, I realized just how badly the Fediverse needs real trust and safety. So instead of spending money on video games, I’m putting it toward #IFTAS.
Why? Because IFTAS helps server admins quietly block the worst of the worst—harassment, racism, CSAM. The kind of toxic rot most people never see because someone else is doing the hard work in the background.
Glad to support that. And I’ll likely do it again.

Just finished listening to @evanprodromou's #fedicon presentation where he traces the history of social networks back to the mainframe era and then all the way to the present of the "social web" aka the fediverse
So on the way back from #FediCon we stopped in Jasper because I told my partner I wanted to take some pics.
I asked him to face the mountains, and then got on one knee, and when he turned around I said:
"This journey together has meant a lot, and I want to spend the rest of my life together with you, on it. Babe, will you marry me"
He said yes!
I haven't seen him so happy in a while, and he hinted at this before, but I wanted to propose somewhere special
And I did
It’s great to see all these amazing #FediCon talks go up. I can’t wait to see the panel I was a part of!
I already made a thumbnail.
Registered for the next @fediforum online UNConference in October! Hope to see you there.
Also just reviewed @cyberlyra 's talk from #fedicon #fedicon2025 last week - I highly recommend this one. It's not a product or demo talk or a how-to, it's a great WHY to on the topic of getting ourselves un-captured from corporate technopolies. August is #chuckZuck month, for those trying to exit the Meta properties.
Give it a listen.
