It's time for the "land doesn't vote, people do" map, Canada 2025 edition:

I think my biggest fear is that this places Canada where the US was in 2020, and we're gearing up for our own return of P̶a̶l̶p̶a̶t̶i̶n̶e̶ Poilievre (or someone worse and more dangerous).
While I was hoping to have been more wrong, I'll still happily take being wrong + Poilievre losing his seat as a solid consolation prize.

I hope that the conservatives will soon pick someone to replace Pierre #Poilievre.
And I hope that person is someone who thinks #Canada is great and wants to help make it greater, rather than someone who thinks Canada is broken and needs fixing.
Because while there's certainly room to improve, Canada is pretty great.

(Sorry, it made me laugh. I know it's naff but this has only just occurred to me so I had to post.)
Canada is at a moment right now that calls for unity. Whether or not the Liberals manage to get 172 seats or not, what I would like to see is a #Unity government. Instead of the conservatives being the opposition, Carney should invite them to form a #coalition government, to ensure the country is united and strong in its stand against the American aggressor.
Bruce Fanjoy must be giddy as hell. Imagine knocking Pierre out of his seat! It's not final yet, but all this leadup must be stressing PP out big time!
Refreshing victory speech from Carney, repudiating the Donald and all his crap. Not afraid to mention him by name either... quite a contrast to our pissweak PM.

Jagmeet Singh has just announced that he will be stepping down as party leader. He lost his seat.
Poilievere is trailing in his riding currently. Elizabeth May has won her seat. This election night has been certainly interesting.
Remember, regardless of who we voted for, we are still Canadians. Never lose sight of that!
And with that, I am going to stop watching the news and hit the sack. Good night y'all.
Looks like I'll be heading to Woodbine Racecourse this summer to gladly lose some US cash!

I appreciate the fact we had a very short election campaign. It gave less chance for #misinformation and AI tools to take root on social media and confuse people. Maybe short election campaigns should be a new norm. #CanadaVotes #CanadaElection #election2025

Canada has voted to give the Liberals a fourth consecutive term. I think it's an endorsement of Mark Carney's leadership. It also shows strong voter disapproval for Pierre Poilievre’s alarmingly extremist views. I hope Pierre Poilievre loses his riding, Carleton, where tally results are starting to arrive: CON 38.6%, LIB 58.6%.
