With a landslide victory courtesy of the Greens, may Elbow now find the gumption to #StopAUKUS, #BDS criminal, genocidal #Israel & restrain predatory corporations causing global warming. #AusVotes2025 #auspol #AIart #cartoons
I dunno how many tens or hundreds of millions of dollars Clive Palmer pissed away on his cringeworthy election campaign, but he got nothing back for it — no Parliament seats, no perks for big mining companies, no influence, no friends.
Everyone reading this in Australia will have seen it.
But for those overseas, and especially for anyone in America, here's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's victory speech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXYKlSVZsvo

With 86 seats (at least) in the Lower House, there’s no excuse for Albanese not to #RaiseTheRate, fix the #HousingCrisis, #CloseTheGap, enact a #MurdochRC and do all the other progressive policy initiatives for which Aussies have given him the mandate. #auspol #ausvotes2025
There's another bigger loser than the Liberal Party tonight, Rupert Murdoch & News Corp. This is the official nail in the coffin of their influence over Australian politics. They are the old man yelling at clouds & no one is listening anymore. God it's beautiful! #ausvotes2025

Peter Dutton has lost his seat in parliament. Ali France has won the seat of Dickson. This result has to be up there with the time Scott Morrison lost his own seat of Wentworth.
The LNP is on track to receive the lowest primary vote in the history of the Coalition. Well done, Dutton.
Oh wow. Having just tuned in, it amazing to see Dutton seems to have lost his seat!
That’ll be a shock for the Member for Rinehart! #auspol #AusVotes2025
Oh my god, watching James McGrath on the ABC election coverage is almost sad, but not quite
#auspol #AusVotes2025
Aussies have rejected Peter Dutton and his $A600 billion nuclear brain fart (which was only ever about delaying the energy transition supporting LNP’s ‘Big Carbon’ donors in coal, oil & gas rather than a serious policy). #auspol #ausvotes2025 #DicksonVotes
Seats projected: 76 ALP 34 LNP 3 Greens 10 Indies 27 Undecided This is a wipeout for the conservatives. And despite throwing millions of dollars of dark money at #ausvotes2025, Aussies have rejected LNP’s Trumpian philosophy – even unseating opposition leader Peter Dutton. #auspol
Antony Green has called it!
Labor has won the 2005 Federal Election, and Peter Dutton is on track to lose his seat.
Potatohead has a new career path already lined up. #auspol #AusVotes2025 #AIart #cartoons #satire
Antony Green has all but called it for Labor and probably with a larger majority.
That's a relief, I must say.
Went down to the democracy sausage factory today to see how the sausage is made. #democracy!

THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN NIGHTMARE
" Owning your own home has long been part of the Australian dream. It's turned into a nightmare....Duncan and Sue are saving to buy a house, like many young people. They're lucky, for both are working - Duncan as a building worker and Sue in an office.
No matter how hard they save, that home-of-their-own moves further away. Their deposit never seems big enough and high interest rates mean crippling
repayments. So Duncan and Sue have to rent, "paying money out to tread water -not getting anywhere". Until recently, seven out of 10 Australians could buy their own homes but now fewer than four
out of 10 can afford it." (1978)
