I call them #maga sheep because it doesn't matter how much I win in an argument - which I always do as I actually #research what I am talking about before I post a #video - Eventually they will fall back on some version of this exact rhetoric.

It's very robotic, and it doesn't matter what we were talking about. In this case it started as #law with a debate about #trump violating the constitution with #deportation issues.

I proved the #constitution applies to everyone.

Then they dropped this.

Q - Don’t you need to uphold the Constitution of the United States as president?
Trump: “I don’t know.”

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD): “It’s the only specific oath that’s actually detailed in it’s language. It says before the president undertakes the execution of the office he has to swear to say that he will preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. The fact that doesn’t leap to mind for him is pretty shocking even for Donald Trump.”

Trump claims he doesn't know if he has an obligation to "uphold the Constitution" despite the fact that he swore an oath to do this very thing in January.

Here's the text of his oath: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

#Trump "doesn't know" if he's required to uphold the #Constitution, even though he publicly swore an oath to:
"...preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Which is totally on-brand for him, since he has never told the truth in his entire fucking life.

Pressed on whether he still needs to abide by the #Constitution, #Trump said, “I don’t know.”

“I have brilliant lawyers that work for me, & they are going to obviously follow what the Supreme Court said,” he said. [except he hasn’t]

In the wide-ranging interview airing Sunday, he also did not rule out the use of #military force to take #Greenland, while saying it’s “highly unlikely” he would do so w/ #Canada. He complimented #JDVance & Secy of #State #MarcoRubio as potential successors.

The comment came as #Trump remained adamant that he wanted to ship undocumented #immigrants out of the country & said it was inconceivable to hear millions of cases in #court, insisting he needed the #power to quickly remove people he claimed were murderers & drug dealers.

“I was elected to get them the hell out of here, & the courts are holding me from doing it,” he said.

The oath is in Article II, §1, Clause 8, of the #US #Constitution, & a new #president must take it before exercising or carrying out any official powers or duties:

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation— "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, & will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect & defend the Constitution of the United States."
