I taught myself to #crochet over the Christmas/NY break, and here's a progress pic of my first ever project
It's about halfway done, and will be about 150x90 when I'm finished
I don't know how many things I I'll make, but it's been a fun skill to learn!
I finally finished my first ever #crochet project, and I am incredibly pleased with it!
I decided to learn over Christmas, and made good progress at first, but then life happened, and I slowed way down. I pushed myself to the finish line last night, and now it just has to dry. 10/10, would crochet again (but not for a while - my wrists are a bit sore)
@stenhaastrup nice work and a great first project
@Ursuursulala thank you! the worst part of learning was that I'm left handed, and almost all the teaching material assumes you use your right hand. So that's what I ended up doing, rather than mirroring everything
@stenhaastrup
Nice work you got going on there. I like the colors.
Ambitious first project and really well done so far.
@FanCityKnits thank you! The edges are a bit wonky because of my uneven tension, but overall I'm really pleased with it
Washing and blocking will help even this out, but really - nobody will notice this minor detail once it's finished! Straight and even edges are one of the harder things in crochet so don't be too critical, you did a great job so far.
@stenhaastrup That is considerably more impressive than my first ever crochet project was.
@stenhaastrup Wow that's a lot of progress over that time!
Also, pretty.
@stenhaastrup
It looks great. I like the colors choices.
@nathanj thank you! Blocking evidently covers up a multitude of sins.
I started off with a tension that was way too tight, and as I loosened down to something more sensible, the whole thing turned slightly trapezoidal
@stenhaastrup that's your very first project? it looks incredible! great work!
(also, true, that graph is painfully accurate)
Very impressive!
@stenhaastrup that’s really pretty! Way nicer than my first ever project, which ended up somewhat trapezoidal lol
