@gateklons hello! do you have any updates on the compliance with Article 7 of the DMA? Meta published its reference offer but there is no record of any other message app having submitted an application, right?
@aguiar Hi! We know that several services at least sent the initial request for access to the full API documentation. However only Matrix was working on actually implementing the produced interoperable solutions but this is the last we heard of them: https://matrix.org/blog/2024/09/whatsapp-dma/
Messenger is also in scope now and Meta has gone beyond their obligations and will also support interoperability for features like read receipts, etc. I can provide more sources/details if needed.

@aguiar I think Matrix folks will eventually get there but probably not soon unless they get a lot of cash. They've actually been working on an implementation with WhatsApp before 7 March 2024 when the DMA actually started to apply to all the gatekeepers that were designated in September 2023.
