What's so bad about the 24-hour must-carry rule?
It could fuel #disinformation. Self declared media isn't inherently trustworthy.
It will prevent swift action against disinformation which is CRITICAL. We need efficient content moderation rules
It undermines the #DSA
Moreover, the 24-hour must-carry rule does not solve the REAL issue: the unbalanced relationship between online platforms (VLOPs) and media (MSPs).
We need more solutions that lead to more diverse and plural landscape of media content on online platforms.
MEPs will vote on #EMFA in the plenary soon.
We and our partners will continue to push for a #EMFA that:
is harmonised with the #DSA
protects media plurality
helps fight #disinformation
