How Sweden has had great success with district heating: needs to be copied more widely.
This used to happen in the UK. All the London powerstations like Battersea and the one that is now the Tate Modern provided district heating.
So what happened?
Capitalism... there was more money to be made in selling electricty for heating homes than providing district heating.
District heating was the main driving force for building massive power stations in the middle of the city.
