Had my talk on Small Web accepted at #why2025 but I hadn’t realised (my bad) that not only do you have to cover your own travel and accommodation but you also have to buy a ticket to speak. I’m sorry, as part of a tiny two-person not-for-profit working for the common good, I can’t afford to pay to speak at events. I’m not Deloitte. So I sadly had to withdraw my talk.

If any conferences do want to hear about the Small Web and are willing to support our work by paying us to speak about it, please feel free to get in touch:

#why2025 has accepted my talk on

"Can we trust the Zero in #Zerotrust?"

ZT has evolved from pure network access to hype. ZT Everywhere became a buzzword. If you ask during presentations, the sales guy sometimes runs out of the meeting.

ZT requires trust in strange containers, ex-employees and attestation processes and a CI/CD pipeline for microcode in the cloud. What questions should we ask?

See you next month at the camp in NL!

Thanks for organizing @milliways !

What Happened Yonder? My @why2025camp talk: 'Consent for Hackers, negotiating consent based on HTTP status codes' has been accepted and confirmed.

Let's talk to people about negotiating consent before engaging in personal and physical interactions. Your browser does it with every webserver, so why shouldn't you do the same with people?

Yes, my #WHY2025 talk has been accepted!

I'll be talking about how to get started with a new microcontroller, without SDK or HAL - just a generic compiler toolchain. Enough to get an LED to blink so you know it's working. Basically, the stuff almost nobody teaches you and you'll just have to figure out somehow. But there are patterns to follow, and ways to read datasheets and reference manuals so you don't have to read the entire 2000 pages or so.
