Quixoticgeek<p>The magnetic clasp on a friend's bag fell off, so they asked if I could repair it. A new clasp was bought, but to install it required access to the lining, I undid a row of stitching, then had to redo the stitches by hand. Used a simple saddle stitch. It's not the prettiest sewing I've ever done but it works. xinit ☕<p>I just saw that there's a whole hashtag for <a href="https://mastodon.coffee/tags/visiblemending" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>visiblemending</span></a> </p><p>Back in art school, when I could more easily get away with dressing like a full-on clown, I would use embroidery floss to weave into worn out bits of old jeans. Sew in old chair fabric to replace bits of a jacket. Replace a denim jacket's sleeves with flashy suit lining from a thrift store suit. </p><p>There's a part of me that wishes there were plentiful pictures of that period in my life. Most of me, though, is really glad.</p>

Not perfect, but I really like it!
