After several hours of work, my photos from this years @vcfe are now online. I tried to write proper and useful descriptions and include links where it’s possible and where it makes sense. Enjoy: flickr.com/photos/stiefkind/al #VCFe24 #vcfe #vintagecomputing #retrocomputing

As usual, all pictures are CC0.

today’s big box pickup. i’m always amazed that these turn up randomly in my city every few months.

these came from a friendly local graphic designer that had them sitting in his storage unit for 30 years.

SO excited to own Stunts finally. it was one of the first two games I ever pirated as a kid, over 2400 baud on a local bbs in 1994

Treated myself with a Oceanic OC168 floppy drive. Compatible not only with the 1541-II psu, but also fully licensed and thus pretty much a perfect replacement for Commodore's drive. Or so they say. Will need to find that out, but the quick, quiet JVC mechanic inside already has me convinced that this is nice. So yes, I'll keep using tapes. But it's also time to use and write some new disks 😎

Thread: I bought an Acorn Archimedes A310

This is the first consumer device with a RISC based processor (a few high end workstations preceded it) and the first wide public release of the ARM processor (the CPU inside of it is literally referred to as the ARM)

Managed to get it with the original cords, manuals, box for the monitor, mouse mat, and the purchase receipt :blobfoxlaughsweat: just had to get it back to Nottingham from Llandudno on the train...
