@davidho Take note fellow Brits. When an Administration seeks to diminish, marginalise & persecute sectors with which they have (for ideological reasons) a bee in their bonnet, they revoke tax-emption. Continuing & lasting shame on you #Reeves #Starmer & #UKLabour for your vindictive assault on non-state education in this country masquerading as a fiscal necessity. You have baked-in a generation of antipathy among up & coming young electors, & you deserve it.

I think UK's Starmer is going to sell Britain out.

Trump's attack on Universities is his tariff war, writ small

Columbia University collapsed into obedience to cruelty.

Harvard said "bite me" loudly

UK's Starmer has made the "negotiations" with Hitler, no sorry I meant Chamberlain's negotiations with Trump, have been made state secrets.

The Guardian · UK officials label trade documents ‘secret’ to shield from US eyes amid Trump tariff warBy Anna Isaac

““This is the 14th development consent order approved by this Labour government, demonstrating we will stop at nothing to deliver economic growth and new infrastructure as part of our ‘plan for change’.”

“Plan for planetary destruction” would be a more apt description. The quicker this Trumpian bunch of imbeciles are out of office the better

@JugglingWithEggs

Canada is boycotting anything identifiable as American.
Flights down 70% 👈

I'm not sure Europe understands.

US produce is plentiful on shelves next to empty shelves of non US goods.

Canada WAS the LARGEST buyer of US goods.

The UK and EU should be SHIPPING goods to Canada knowing they'll be bought.

👉 Canada is the largest buyer of US goods in the WORLD, and they are boycotting the US forever.

The British @theipaper really is a right wing voice now, but it's good to know your enemy.
The #UKLabour 'Growth Group" is one of them with 100 MPs.

Fun fact: my first attempt to type the name of the group came out as 'Gfwotb Group'. A much better name

How has fascism in Britain got this far? Neoliberalism has opened the door for it

Why seek to nix the financial regulations inspired by the 2008 crash, when the likely result is a repeat performance? Why reject a wealth tax, when a 2% levy on assets of over £10m could raise £24bn a year? Why not adopt the measures proposed by Patriotic Millionaires, generating £60bn a year? Or those suggested by political economist Richard Murphy, worth £90bn in tax revenue? Why abandon plans to tax non-doms properly? Why not demand an end to the Bank of England’s destructive quantitative tightening?
