Christof Schöch<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fedihum.org/@jomla" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>jomla</span></a></span> Lacking context here, but I continue to think <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/OpenAccess" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenAccess</span></a> is absolutely great! </p><p>The problem is that <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/GoldOA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GoldOA</span></a> / <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/transformative" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>transformative</span></a> agreements turn out to be not cool at all, but people pretend or believe that's the only way to accomplish OA. </p><p>The true way forward is scholar-led <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/DiamondOA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DiamondOA</span></a> based on open infrastructure. And yes, that means shifting budgets away from DEAL to support <a href="https://fedihum.org/tags/DiamondOA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DiamondOA</span></a> instead. There's plenty of money in the system to do so.</p>
