Today, Scottish Labour joined the Blue Tories to try to expel Green MSP Maggie Chapman from the #ScottishParliament's Equalities Committee. They failed, and Chapman stood her ground.

It's grim to watch Labour join in the Tory witch-hunt against anyone who fails to crap on trans people. Bad enough that both Red&Blue #Tories have surrendered to TERFs, but the vindictiveness is shocking.

"Man who escaped rape charges due to his position and influence is appointed to Kemi Badenoch's cabinet"

But he 'knows what a Woman* is', so he's not a threat according to the Tories.

Echo · Kemi Badenoch appoints Mark Francois to Tory shadow cabinetBy Cameron Hill

It's not that I wish death on Tory MPs, it's the total ambivalence I feel when they do die.
Shit on people your whole life, expect nobody to care when you die.

The lads didn't even mention Labour, so they are putting words in their mouths by dragging out Jo Cox as a weapon. Westminster was pretty keen to forget about her during Brexit.....

@mls14 @TonyStark Sadly, the change of government has done little to improve the fear of 'others' here in the UK, as evidenced by the continued popularity of Farage and the Reform party.

The Labour party have to continue to act like the Tories to have some chance of keeping the voters from the right they persuaded at the last election.

Meanwhile, some on the left are preparing to abandon them for those policies.

I hate #farage, #borisjohnson and the #tories for what they did to our country.

Kemi Badenoch says Lib Dems are people who fix church roofs. Yes: that’s why we’re popular and she isn‘t theguardian.com/commentisfree/ #LocalElections #LocalElections2025 #UK - #LibDem pitch. Would be nice to see #Green pick up seats. (also #Labour and #Tories get the hammering they deserve). Probably doesn’t need said in the Fediverse - don’t vote #Reform ! If you don’t believe they are hateful racists and bigots, at least remember they are the #Brexit party and look where that got us!

"After 10 months in power, next week could show #Labour how much the reality of government can really hurt."

"#Reform might be the loudest group, but they're not the only one making life hard for the big boys. The #LibDems reckon with a good night they might control more councils than the #Tories this time next week."

"Lastly, but not least, the #Greens want to continue their steady march into council seats across England."

BBC NewsWill this be the 'anyone but the big parties' local election?"Slivers" of votes are set to decide the local elections - with the big parties likely to suffer.
