Composer Greg<p>Thomas Dolby regularly surprises and delights with the novel ways he contributes meaningful creative expression to the world. </p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/WaxT-DGd38g?si=mVnnfxlmcX8Tdm8k" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtu.be/WaxT-DGd38g?si=mVnnfx</span><span class="invisible">lmcX8Tdm8k</span></a></p><p>I'd like to be more like him when I grow up.</p><p><a href="https://io.waxandleather.com/tags/thomasdolby" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>thomasdolby</span></a> <a href="https://io.waxandleather.com/tags/elonsofny" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>elonsofny</span></a></p>

I didn't quite understand the debut, but this sophomore effort seems so mature and sincere. Dissident is funky as fuck but the title track, my favourite, takes it down a bit and it's a calm, romantic masterpiece.</p><p><a href="https://titterdom.nl/tags/vinyl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vinyl</span></a> <a href="https://titterdom.nl/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://titterdom.nl/tags/album" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>album</span></a> <a href="https://titterdom.nl/tags/newwave" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>newwave</span></a> <a href="https://titterdom.nl/tags/synthpop" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>synthpop</span></a></p>

This is some really sophisticated <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/synthpop" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>synthpop</span></a>. I have read that Dolby usually writes humorous music, but this seems way calmer than that. I really quite like this album and will certainly listen to it more!</p><p><a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/80s" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>80s</span></a> <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/80sMusic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>80sMusic</span></a> <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/artpop" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>artpop</span></a></p>
Russell<p>Here's my <a href="https://noc.social/tags/introduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>introduction</span></a>!! I am an GenX computer/tech nerd who never left the 80's. I like my <a href="https://noc.social/tags/retrogames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrogames</span></a> and <a href="https://noc.social/tags/retrocompuing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrocompuing</span></a>. I also enjoy fixing things with <a href="https://noc.social/tags/3dprinting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>3dprinting</span></a>. I have a wife, <a href="https://noc.social/tags/kids" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kids</span></a> and <a href="https://noc.social/tags/cats" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cats</span></a>, and love them all so much. I am a huge fan of <a href="https://noc.social/tags/thomasdolby" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>thomasdolby</span></a> (see my long neglected site at <a href="http://tmdrfan.com" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">http://</span><span class="">tmdrfan.com</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> ) and of synthesizer music in general.</p>
Shoogle<p>Just to get some hashtags out there, here are some bands/musicians who shaped my tastes in music back in my 80's teenage years:</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/artofnoise" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>artofnoise</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/thomasdolby" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>thomasdolby</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/theb52s" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>theb52s</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/kraftwerk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kraftwerk</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/yello" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>yello</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/oingoboingo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>oingoboingo</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/ninahagen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ninahagen</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/weirdalyankovic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>weirdalyankovic</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/theymightbegiants" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>theymightbegiants</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/talkingheads" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>talkingheads</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/devo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>devo</span></a> </p><p>I grew up in Winslow, AZ, a small town with nothing but country music (sigh) on local radio. My escape was shopping in Flagstaff or Phoenix where I could find the better &amp; weirder music that I craved. Ahhh, ye olde pre-internet days...</p>
