It might be taller than you, but you swim up and over the face or just punch through. The wave goes by and you’re back standing in waist-high water.</p><p>THAT IS NOT WHAT STORM SURGE IS LIKE. When forecasters say “10-15 feet of storm surge” you need to picture the ENTIRE OCEAN being 10-15’ above its normal height. It is coming on land and there is nothing you can do to stop it.
