If <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/nevillechamberlain" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nevillechamberlain</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/sirjohnsimon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sirjohnsimon</span></a> - the two successive chancellors of the exchequer - preferred to resort to taxes and borrowing why should not <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/rachelreeves" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rachelreeves</span></a> - or any <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/labour" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>labour</span></a> successor - do the same this time round ?</p>
